Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking a skilled RN to join the Telemetry department on a day shift, full-time basis. You will deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care and collaborate with hospitalists, cardiologists, and NPs to ensure safety and quality.

This role requires a TN RN license (or compact state), BLS within 30 days, and ACLS/ACLS preferred; 6+ months acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current multi-state (Compact State) license.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• 6+ months of acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring alignment with safety standards and protocols.
• Monitor and communicate real-time patient status to the care team for swift clinical decisions.
• Coordinate care across hospitalists, cardiologists, and NPs to provide seamless patient experiences.
• Execute advanced clinical skills including cardiac drip titration and ACLS protocols for high-acuity patients.
• Manage the full discharge process to ensure clear transitions for patients and families.

• Monitor and communicate real‑time patient status to the care team, enabling swift, life‑saving clinical decisions.

• Coordinate care efforts across multiple specialties, acting as the central hub between hospitalists, cardiologists, and NPs to provide a seamless, high‑quality patient experience.

• Execute advanced clinical skills, including cardiac drip titration and ACLS protocols, to provide expert‑level support for our most high‑acuity patients.

• Manage the full discharge process, ensuring patients and families transition from the unit with clarity and confidence.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi‑state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
