Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse at Saint Thomas Heart Midtown in Nashville, TN to deliver patient-centered cardiac care on a Day/PRN schedule. You will interpret orders, monitor patients, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safety and quality throughout shifts.

You will lead discharge planning from day one, coordinating with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure a safe, confident transition home for patients.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire date.
• RN credential from Tennessee Board of Nursing or compact state recognition prior to hire.

• Advocate & Strategist: You will bring patient care plans to lifeâimplementing, monitoring, and evolving them to meet the unique needs of those in your care.

• Vigilant Communicator: Beyond just "recording" data, you will be the expert voice for your patients, monitoring conditions and communicating vital updates to the team in real-time.

• Precision Execution: With a keen eye for detail, youâll interpret and carry out physician and nursing orders, ensuring clinical accuracy at every turn.

• Bridge to Home: Youâll lead the discharge planning process from day one, collaborating across the care team to ensure your patients have everything they need for a safe and confident transition home.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following required:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences:

• 1+ years cardiac experience
