Job summary

Jefferson Healthcare in Washington, DC area is seeking a per diem Short Stay RN to join the Surgical Services team. You will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care to patients recovering from surgery or awaiting admission, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety and efficiency.

Requirements include current Washington RN license, AHA BLS, ACLS within 30 days, BSN preferred, and 1 year of pre/post‑op or PACU/ICU/ED experience.

Registered Nurse – Surgical Services – Short Stay RN (Per Diem)

Jefferson Healthcare is seeking a per diem Short Stay RN to join our dynamic team in the Surgical Services department.

Key Responsibilities

As a Short Stay RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from surgical procedures or awaiting inpatient admission. This unit typically supports patients requiring observation or short-term post-operative care. The RN works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

What you'll need:

• Current Washington State RN license in good standing required
• Current AHA BLS required

• One (1) year of PACU/Med Surg/ICU/ED experience preferred

Schedule

• Per diem; 16 hours/week; Day Shift; no weekends!
