Unit Summary:

We have recently upgraded our surgical facilities, including the addition of a sixth operating room, construction of OR seven, and upcoming communication system upgrades. These enhancements include monitors, towers, cameras, and scopes to improve surgical technique and visibility. Our surgical volume has grown, with 7,837 procedures performed in 2023, a 12% increase from 2022.

Position Summary:

Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Addresses the physical, psychosocial, religious, and cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team about patient condition or response to treatment.

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing assigned duties
2. Completing patient assessments and reassessments
3. Managing pain and other patient needs based on procedures, medications, and treatments
4. Communicating effectively with patients of all ages and needs
5. Administering medications correctly, following the six rights to reduce errors
6. Assisting physicians with procedures and performing technical services

Minimum Qualifications:

• Willing to take call shifts
• RN license in KY or a compact state
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• BLS certification within 7 days of hire
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment
