Unit Summary:

Recent upgrades include a sixth operating room, upcoming communication system enhancements, and new monitors, towers, cameras, and scopes to improve surgical procedures. Our surgical volume increased by 12% in 2023, performing 7,837 procedures.

Position Summary:

Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process, addressing physical, psychosocial, religious, cultural, and family needs. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status and response to treatment.

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing assigned duties
2. Completing patient assessments and reassessments
3. Assessing patient condition, procedures, medications, and treatments
4. Managing and reassessing pain with appropriate techniques
5. Providing patient care tailored to age and needs
6. Administering medications correctly, following the 6 rights
7. Assisting physicians and performing technical services

Minimum Qualifications:

• Willing to take call shifts
• RN license in KY or a compact state
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
• BLS certification within 7 days of hire
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred)
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and handle stress
