Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care to SIH patients in a hospital setting. The role requires a nursing degree (ADN/BSN/MSN) and an Illinois RN license, with CPR/BLS and ACLS certificates current or within onboarding timelines.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, planning and evaluating care with the care team, and educating patients and families while maintaining thorough clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Nursing.
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Card.
• Current ACLS card within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain optimum health.
• Demonstrate clinical judgment with critical thinking to recognize changes in patient condition and respond.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the patient medical record.
• Provide input into policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
