Job summary

Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL is seeking a Night shift, PRN Specialty Float RN to deliver expert nursing care across ICU, ED, and Telemetry, adapting to diverse patient populations and executing physician orders with clinical autonomy.

You will monitor and document rapid changes in patient condition, apply evidence-based interventions, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, seamless patient transitions.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Illinois
• BLS certification
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program

You will adapt seamlessly to diverse patient populations, implementing and monitoring complex care plans while executing physician orders with precision and clinical autonomy.
• Real-Time Assessment & Action: Serve as the critical link in patient safety by monitoring, recording, and communicating rapid changes in patient condition. You'll leverage your specialty expertise to assess needs on the fly and ensure every intervention aligns with the highest standards of evidence-based practice.
• Multidisciplinary Leadership: Act as the central coordinator for the healthcare team, bridging gaps between disciplines to ensure seamless, well-coordinated patient transitions.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preference

• 1 year ED and ICU RN experience.
