Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking an Emergency Department nurse to provide high-quality care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma in a 24/7 setting at CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO. You will triage, assess, and stabilize patients, coordinating care with the team to ensure safe discharges or transfers.

Qualifications

• RN license active in Missouri
• BLS must be obtained within 90 days
• ACLS within one year of hire
• PALS within one year of hire
• ENPC within 12 months of hire
• TNCC within 12 months of hire
• NRC within one year of hire, then every two years

The ED nurse works quickly to assess the needs of each patient, prioritize care based on the critical nature, works to stabilize the patient, initiate treatment, discharge the patient after the emergency is over or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.Education: Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in NursingExperience: Preferred: Previous nursing experienceSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates effective leadership abilities Exhibits valuable time management skills Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
