Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, MO is seeking a registered nurse for our Emergency Department to provide professional care during acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages. The ED nurse triages, prioritizes care, stabilizes patients, initiates treatment, and coordinates discharge or transfer.

Required: Missouri RN license, BLS within 90 days, ACLS, PALS, ENPC within 12 months, and TNCC within 12 months; ENPC for emergent pediatric care.

Qualifications

• BLS within 90 days
• ACLS within 1 year of hire
• PALS within 1 year of hire
• ENPC within 12 months of hire
• TNCC within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care during acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages

The ED nurse triages and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system. The ED nurse works quickly to assess the needs of each patient, prioritize care based on the critical nature, works to stabilize the patient, initiate treatment, discharge the patient after the emergency is over or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.Job DescriptionEducation: Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in NursingExperience: Preferred: Previous nursing experienceSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates effective leadership abilities Exhibits valuable time management skills Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
