Job summary

Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Women’s Services unit on a full-time night schedule (7p-7a) with every 3rd weekend. The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate care, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams to support mothers and newborns in an 8-bed unit.

Candidate must possess an RN license and be able to obtain BLS within 30 days, ACLS and PALS within six months. ASLS certification is preferred; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and basic hygiene, nutrition and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers, discharge, referrals and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Educates patient and family based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

The Women's Services unit at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing care to patients. This is an 8-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

• RN license required
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
