Job summary

Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Women’s Services unit. This 8-bed unit emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and compassionate patient care.

You will perform plan of care interventions, document care, monitor patient status, assist with daily living activities, and collaborate with the care team to coordinate transfers and discharge. RN license and BLS are required; ACLS and PALS within six months; one year of experience

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
