Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital in Muscle Shoals, AL, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Surgery with a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The role focuses on delivering patient-centered perioperative care, collaborating with the surgical team, and utilizing advanced technologies to support safe, effective outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, ADN required with BSN preferred, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care in timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors patient condition and communicates with care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care, transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate education.
• Advocates for patient well-being.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality care and may be assigned on-call.

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Whatwe'relooking for:

• Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
• Requires one year of nursing experience.
