Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinic setting to provide direct patient care and coordinate treatment plans. You will work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.

The role requires an active RN license, an ADN (BSN preferred), and BLS within 14 days of hire. At least one year of nursing experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license is required.
• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification within 14 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to provide direct patient care with critical thinking.
• Administers medications and performs clinical treatments as ordered.
• Documents care timely and accurately in the chart.
• Monitors patient status and communicates with the team and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and education needs.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams and handles transfers/discharges.
• Supports psychosocial/spiritual needs and advocates for patients' well-being.
• Participates in performance improvement and may be on-call.

ARegistered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

The Clinic RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other specialized medical care treatments.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Whatwe'relooking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
