Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital in Muscle Shoals, AL is seeking an RN for the Emergency Services department. The role features PRN shifts in a fast-paced, team-driven ED, with opportunities to grow skills and contribute to high-quality emergency care for a diverse patient population.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), BCLS certification, and may have 2–3 years of experience; new grads are welcome to apply. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

• ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment
• Two-three years of experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
