Job summary

Centerpoint - Winchester, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Emergency Services Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The role supports high-quality patient care on a 3x12 night schedule, with a $10,000 commitment bonus for two years of service.

Applicants should hold a current state RN license and a BSN, with BLS required and ACLS/PALS preferred. The ED handles ~35,000 visits annually in a 22-bed setting, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care provided and monitor patient condition for the care team.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Educate patients and families based on age, culture, and condition; participate in performance improvement.
• Provide flexible coverage and support across units as needed.

More About Our Team

Our ED has seen steady growth since opening the new building in 2012, seeing almost 35,000 patients each year in the 22 bed ED alone, that's 95 patients per day.

How You'll Contribute

An Emergency Services Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification
• One year of Emergency Room RN experience preferred
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, & Handle with Care preferred
