Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shift with rotating weekends. You will provide direct patient care using nursing processes, administer medications, collect specimens, and coordinate care with the care team.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate’s degree in nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), plus an active Kentucky RN license and BCLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in state of practice; Kentucky license active.
• BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors condition, communicates with care team and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Coordinates patient care across transfers, discharges, referrals, and needs.
• Educates patients and families appropriate to age and culture.
• Advocates for patient well-being; participates in performance improvement.
• Maintains regular attendance and performs additional duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

What we are looking for:

• Associate's degree in nursing required, bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License/Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BCLS required. ACLS PALS
• Handle with Care preferred
