Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital in North Carolina seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care/Telemetry unit. The role features a 3x12 schedule, night shift (7p-7a), and a $20,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment.

Holidays and weekends required, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 and advanced monitoring capabilities. Ideal candidates hold a NC or compact RN license, an Associate degree in nursing, and BLS; ACLS and PALS within six months.

  • Current North Carolina or compact state RN license.
  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and identify nursing needs.
  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide age-appropriate and condition-appropriate care.
  • Document medical necessity timely and accurately in the chart.
  • Develop and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for each patient.
  • Perform timely QI assessments.

Join our team in a 12-bed Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. We are staffed with RNs, CNAs, Telemetry Techs, and unit secretaries, providing specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced monitoring technology to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure optimal outcomes for our diverse patient population.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
