Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital in North Carolina is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgery team. This full-time Day shift position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a two-year commitment and opportunities to work across General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics and more.

You will perform patient assessments, implement care plans, document medical records, and participate in interdisciplinary care.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina (or compact state) RN license.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely documentation in the medical record.
• Completes and revises Interdisciplinary Care Plans for each patient.
• Performs timely QI assessments.

About our team

Join our growing team! Our surgical department is made up of a 14-bed Pre-op unit, 4 bay PACU and 6 Operating Rooms. With dedicated Surgeons, Nurses and OR Assistants, you will gain experience in areas such as General Surgery, OB/GYN, Ortho/Sports Medicine, ENT, Urology, Bronchoscopies, Dental Extractions and Peds Dental Restorations.

How you''ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we''re looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and possess an associate''s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
