Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
  • BSN degree preferred but not required.
  • 1 year RN experience or completion of RN residency program required.
  • 2–3 years Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
  • RN license required upon hire.
  • ACLS, BCLS, NRP certifications required or in process within specified timelines.
  • IFM and NRPA neonatal resuscitation training preferred.
  • CPI training maintained annually.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care using the Nursing Process.
  • Assess the patient and develop care plans.
  • Plan and coordinate care across shifts and teams.
  • Intervene when needed and monitor patient response.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and adjust as needed.
  • Incorporate safety and infection control measures for age-related care.
  • Communicate with patients and families to provide information.

Work hours: PRN; Nights; 7:00 pm-7:00 am rotating weekends required


Labor And Delivery Highlights


  • Average 120 deliveries per month

Here’s What You Need


  • Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma

  • BSN (Preferred)

  • 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)

  • At least 2- 3 years of labor and delivery experience as a registered nurse (Preferred)

  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required) And

  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required) And

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days (Required) And

  • IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months (Required upon hire) And

  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required)

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req


What You Will Do


  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient

  • Plans the care of the patient

  • Intervenes as appropriate

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
