Unit Highlights

Pre-Cardiology is a specialized cardiovascular nursing team in a fast-paced outpatient and procedural recovery environment. Our nurses are responsible for preparing patients for procedures and providing post-procedural recovery care, utilizing advanced assessment skills, cardiac rhythm interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, sheath management, and patient/family education. Pre-Cardiology nurses provide expert care for patients undergoing advanced cardiac and electrophysiology procedures, including: Cardiac catheterizations and PCI procedures Structural heart interventions (TAVR, Amulet, PFO/ASD closure) Electrophysiology studies and ablations Pacemaker and ICD implantations Peripheral vascular interventions Advanced heart failure therapies, including LVAD patients.

Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours per week Shift: Days, 5:45 am-5:4 5pm or 6:30 am- 6:30 pm.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

• EKG (based on patient ; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)

• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
