Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift in a high-acuity Pre-Cardiology outpatient/procedural recovery setting. You will perform assessments, craft individualized care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse qualification required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments addressing physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely per physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate and optimize patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.

Unit Highlights
  • Pre-Cardiology is a specialized cardiovascular nursing team in a fast-paced outpatient and procedural recovery environment. Our nurses are responsible for preparing patients for procedures and providing post-procedural recovery care, utilizing advanced assessment skills, cardiac rhythm interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, sheath management, and patient/family education. Pre-Cardiology nurses provide expert care for patients undergoing advanced cardiac and electrophysiology procedures, including: Cardiac catheterizations and PCI procedures Structural heart interventions (TAVR, Amulet, PFO/ASD closure) Electrophysiology studies and ablations Pacemaker and ICD implantations Peripheral vascular interventions Advanced heart failure therapies, including LVAD patients

Full Time, 36 hours per week

Days, 5:45 am-5:4 5pm or 6:30 am- 6:30 pm

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.

  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.

  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures

  • Ability to work as a Team player within a unit

  • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills

  • EKG (based on patient ; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)

  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)

  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs

  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Education
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience
  • 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range

$31.85 - $52.76
