Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for per diem shifts (days). The role involves patient admissions, assessments, and coordination with a Nursing Assistant.

EPIC documentation, telemetry interpretation, and ensuring orders are transcribed accurately are key responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a valid NJ RN license, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of acute care or rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Valid State RN License required.
• BLS required at hire.
• Minimum of 1 year as a full-time RN in an acute care, med/surg, or rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and transfers on each shift.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Document using EPIC accurately and timely.
• Interpret labs and telemetry data.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed correctly.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.

Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: 1199 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052Schedule: Per Diem (PRN), 7AM-7:30PM (Days) (Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)

Compensation: $54.00/Hour +Shift Differential

Responsibilities

On each shift, you will partner with a Nursing Assistant and handle a manageable case load.Together, you will help our patients achieve the outlined goals and milestones based on their unique patient care plan.

• Receiving admissions and/or transfers.
• Initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
• Timely and accurate documentation using EPIC
• Interpreting assessment/diagnostic data, including labs and telemetry.
• Ensuring medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Instructing and counseling patients/families.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Valid State RN License required
• BLS required at hire
• Minimum of 1 year as a full-time RN in an acute care, med/surg, acute medical rehabilitation or related hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or enrollment in BSN program preferred
• Clinical experience preferred

Per Diem Requirement: Four (4) shifts per 6-week schedule. One Saturday or Sunday, one minor holiday/ major holiday.
