Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for per diem shifts (PRN), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including weekday and weekend shifts. Compensation is $54.00 per hour plus shift differential, with mileage reimbursement when traveling to satellite campuses.

The role involves admissions, assessments, EPIC documentation, and collaborative patient care on our inpatient rehab unit.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Jersey (state-specific).
• BLS certification required at hire.
• Minimum of 1 year as a full-time RN in an acute care, med/surg, rehabilitation or related hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and transfers.
• Initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
• Timely and accurate documentation using EPIC.
• Interpretation of labs and telemetry data.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.

Schedule: Per Diem (PRN), 7AM-7:30PM (Days) (Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)

Compensation: $54.00/Hour +Shift Differential

On each shift, you will partner with a Nursing Assistant and handle a manageable case load. Together, you will help our patients achieve the outlined goals and milestones based on their unique patient care plan.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid State RN License required
• BLS required at hire
• Minimum of 1 year as a full-time RN in an acute care, med/surg, acute medical rehabilitation or related hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or enrollment in BSN program preferred
• Clinical experience preferred

Per Diem Requirement: Four (4) shifts per 6-week schedule. One Saturday or Sunday, one minor holiday/ major holiday.
