RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking a per diem Day shift PD RN for the main hospital in New Brunswick. The role involves comprehensive patient care in Medical Unit-III with a focus on safety, teamwork and clinical excellence.

Qualified candidates will hold an active NJ RN license with BLS, preferably a BSN, and may need NBC and ACLS within 6 months. Prior acute care experience and EPIC proficiency are valued for success.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing; BLS certification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS preferred or to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• 1-2 years RN experience in acute care preferred.
• Comfort with electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Partner with physicians and providers to support timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately for the next phase of care.
• Document accurately and timely in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and effective transitions of care.

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire. National Board Certification and ACLS Certification is preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Prior 1-2 years of RN experience within acute care is preferred and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a Per Diem Day Shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m with weekend and holiday rotations, 2 shifts per month, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
