RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery for a per diem Day shift. The role requires strong clinical judgment, compassionate patient care, and collaboration with a maternity team.

You will perform assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, and support families through the birth process while maintaining safety and quality care. Active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, ADN required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NRP certifications required.
• 3–5 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience.
• ADN required; BSN strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families and ensure informed consent and understanding.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and drive coordinated care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and ongoing professional growth.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. An Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification and NRP Certification are required. At least 3-5 years of current High-risk Labor and Delivery RN experience is required. An Associate's degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is Day Shift, Per Diem.
