Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a dedicated PACU RN to join our perioperative care team in Marquette, Michigan. The role supports twelve ORs with vigilant post-operative care and smooth transitions after anesthesia. Schedule is 8-hour day shifts, 0.8 FTE (64 hours per pay period) with rotating on-call duties.

A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants, and the team values skills, compassion, and commitment to patient well-being as central to care delivery.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor's preferred).
• BLS-HCP certification.
• ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Collaborates across disciplines for patient transfers, discharge, and referrals.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and condition.
• Advocates for the patient's physical and emotional well-being.

On Call: 4 x Call Shifts/6 week schedule Frequently rotates to Pre-op. PACU and Post-op Rotating Holidays

Our PACU team supports twelve (12) ORs, providing safe, vigilant post operative care and ensuring smooth, secure patient transitions after anesthesia.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional Requirements Include

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
