Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Registered Nurse Manager for the PACU in Marquette, MI. This full-time salaried role includes 8-hour daytime shifts Mon-Fri and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

You will lead the PACU team, manage staffing, budgets, and clinical protocols while promoting professional growth and evidence-based practice. An MI RN license and an associate degree are required; a Bachelor's is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Active Michigan RN license.
  • Associate's degree in nursing; Bachelor's preferred.
  • BLS-HCP; ACLS/PALS within 1 year.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
  • 7+ years managerial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop department goals that align with the organization's vision.
  • Lead staff relations, scheduling, payroll, and recruitment.
  • Monitor budgets, contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Coordinate patient care with teams; provide care if needed.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Days M-F

How You'll Contribute
  • Assists with developing specific department goals standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchase, monitors usage, and oversee proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional Requirements Include
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
  • 2-years nursing experience
  • 7-years managerial experience (preferred)
