Job summary

Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking a Pediatric Registered Nurse for our PACU / Same Day Surgery Department to join a team dedicated to improving children's lives and delivering compassionate, family-centered care.

Hours: 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm with no weekends or holidays; compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity. This role supports pediatric patients recovering from surgery in a high-quality perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• BSN degree or in process.
• Ohio RN License.
• 1 year experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit or ICU.
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification or obtained within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily planning via patient rounds with interdisciplinary team for the plan of care.
• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in the recovery room, including assessments and interventions to keep patients safe after surgery.
• Demonstrate leadership through roles such as preceptor and involvement in quality improvement efforts.

Job Description

Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for full-time Pediatric Registered Nurse in our PACU / Same Day Surgery Department. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Hours: Our PACU team enjoys a quality work-life balance. This full-time position will work 10-hour shifts (7:00 am - 5:30 pm) and no weekends or holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• In this role, you get the opportunity to participate in daily planning via patient rounds. You'll work as part of the interdisciplinary team for the plan of care for our patients.
• The PACU Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the recovery room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe after surgery.
• The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role and quality improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

• BSN degree or in process
• Ohio RN License
• One year experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit or ICU
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or obtained within one year of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years of Acute Care Nursing experience
• Pediatric experience
