Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Outpatient Surgery. The role is full-time days, leading a care team to deliver holistic patient care while aligning with policies and standards.

FULL TIME - DAYS (1ST SHIFT)

Job Description:

Registered nurse (RN) provides and coordinates holistic care of the patient through honoring patients’ mind, body and spirit while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual. Professional nursing practices are rooted in evidence while being guided by organizational policies/procedures, regulatory standards and professional guidelines.

Nursing excellence is the foundation of the nurse-patient relationship and is exemplified by positive patient outcomes, ongoing professional growth and development, and collaborative relationships with other disciplines.

The RN is an exemplar for clinical excellence, professionalism, compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy. RN clinical proficiency is based on a sound knowledge base together with the understanding of the theories and science of nursing practice. Further, RN clinical decision-making incorporates the four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As the nursing care team lead, the registered nurse must have the ability to delegate appropriate work to patient care techs, licensed practical nurses, unit secretaries, and students while taking responsibility for the work delegated.

• Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
• Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
• Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
• Current RN licensure or temporary Kentucky work permit
• Associate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Completion and maintenance of BLS.
• ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 6 months of hire.
• NIHSS within 3 months of hire.
• Successful completion of all competencies as identified on the departmental nurse competency grid.
