Job summary

Baptist Health in Richmond, KY seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Department on the second shift (11a–11p). The unit is a 19 bed/4 chaired area with fast track for non-emergent patients and life-threatening rooms, supporting care from birth to death.

This full-time role requires Kentucky RN licensure, a nursing degree (ADN required, BSN preferred), BLS, ACLS/PALS within 6 months, and NIHSS within 3 months. TNCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
• Completion and maintenance of BLS.
• ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred TNCC.
• NIHSS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
• Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
• Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

The Emergency Department is a 19 bed/ 4 chaired area with a separate 2 bay, 1 bed clinical decision area designated for patients ranging in age from birth to death with health care needs from nonemergent to critical. The unit has designated rooms used for life-threatening conditions with special equipment and supplies, and rooms designated as fast track for non-emergent patients
