Job summary

Valley View Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time position with a 40-hour work week and varied shifts.

The role focuses on perioperative patient care, medication administration, and cross-disciplinary coordination. Applicants should hold an RN license and ADN; BSN preferred, with BCLS required and ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current state RN license is required.
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • BCLS is required; ACLS/PALS are preferred.
  • BSN degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers, discharges, and referrals.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

An Operating Room Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • BCLS required

  • ACLS, PALS preferred

  • Associate's Degree required; BSN preferred
