Job summary

Valley View Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shifts (3x12, 6:30p-7a) with rotating weekends. A retention bonus is available for well-qualified applicants. The role emphasizes direct patient care, teamwork, and ongoing education.

Applicants should hold a current state RN license and an Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing school. BCLS is required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process.
  • Document patient care provided.

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
  • Collaborate across disciplines for transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
  • Educate patients and families based on age, culture, and condition.
  • Advocate for patient well-being; participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work flexibly as needed.

How you'll contribute

AnEmergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role will provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice as well as

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Minimum of 3 years ED experience preferred.
