Job summary

Valley View Medical Center in Bullhead City, AZ is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for per diem, as-needed shifts. You’ll join a team in a smaller hospital setting that emphasizes collaboration, patient-focused care, and flexibility through self-scheduling.

The role requires current RN licensure, an Associate’s Degree (BSN preferred), and BCLS; ACLS/PALS and Handle with Care are preferred. You’ll provide direct care, document patient status, and coordinate across disciplines to support

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided and monitors patient condition for the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living and coordinates transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support as needed.
  • Provides education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

How you’ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate’s Degree; BSN preferred from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
