Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Obstetrics Float Pool to join the Family Birthing Center on a full-time night shift. The unit handles high patient volumes with 10 Labor Beds, 5 Antepartum beds, 10 Triage beds, and a focus on safe, compassionate care.

Applicants must hold an Illinois RN license, BLS and NRP certifications, and have prior Labor & Delivery or Maternal-Baby experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois or the state of practice.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association.
• NRP certification as required.
• Previous experience in Labor & Delivery, Maternal-Baby and/or SCN.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care per standards and policies.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum using evidence-based practice.

Full Time Nights

Where You Will Work:

Our Family Birthing Center has 10 Labor Beds/ 5 Antepartum/ 10 Triage/ 2OB ORs. 24 Mother Baby beds and 16 Intermediate Care Nursery Beds. 150-175 deliveries per month.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP
• Previous experience in Labor & Delivery, Maternal-Baby and/or SCN required

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
