Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Mother Baby unit on a full-time night shift. Our unit features 10 labor beds, 5 antepartum, 10 triage beds, 2 OB ORs, 24 Mother Baby beds and 16 Intermediate Care Nursery beds, delivering 150–175 mothers monthly.

The RN will deliver safe, compassionate care, coordinate nursing plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes across the continuum.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program is required.
• Active RN license in Illinois is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process.
• Contribute to a safe, therapeutic patient environment and excellent experience.

Where You Will Work:

Our Family Birthing Center has 10 Labor Beds/ 5 Antepartum/ 10 Triage/ 2OB ORs. 24 Mother Baby beds and 16 Intermediate Care Nursery Beds. 150-175 deliveries per month.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
