Job summary

UP Health System - Portage, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an OB RN for a PRN / 0.001 FTE role with varied 12‑hour shifts (7‑7) and a 90‑day need. Join a mission‑driven team dedicated to high‑quality, compassionate care for women and families.

You will perform plan of care interventions, document care, monitor patient status, assist with daily living activities, and collaborate with the care team to support discharge and education.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license required.
• Associate degree in nursing; bachelor’s preferred.
• BLS-HCP required.
• One-two years OB experience required.
• NRP, AWHONN, EFM, STABLE and PEOP within 6 months.
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medications and treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates across disciplines for transfer, discharge and support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs and provides patient/family education.
• Advocates for patient well‑being.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred). Additional requirements include:

• Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license.

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP).
• One-two years minimum OB experience required.
• NRP, AWHONN, EFM, STABLE and PEOP (within 6 months).
