Job summary

UP Health System - Portage is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with OB specialization to join our obstetric team. This part-time position (0.6 FTE) includes 4 x 12-hour shifts (7-7) with night/day rotation, and holiday coverage as described.

You will provide high-quality nursing care to obstetric patients and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will hold a Michigan RN license, an associate degree in nursing (bachelor's preferred), and BLS-HCP certification, with OB

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• One year of medical-surgical experience preferred.
• OB experience or OB qualifications preferred.
• NRP, AWHONN, EFM, STABLE and PEOP within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support needs.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Acts as an advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

An OB RN who excels in this role:

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional Requirements Include

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• One-year medical surgical experience (preferred)
• OB experience or OB qualifications (preferred)
• NRP, AWHONN, EFM, STABLE and PEOP (within 6 months)
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required
