Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our Nursing team. The RN will provide care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Oncology units on a night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with a 36-hour week and every other weekend/holiday schedule. New Jersey RN license, BLS, ACLS within 6 months required; BSN preferred; EMR experience (EPIC) recommended.

Qualifications

• Active NJ RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• BSN preferred; graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Med/Surg or Telemetry/Oncology experience preferred; EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients; recognize clinical changes promptly.
• Administer safe medications and treatments with strong clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians/learned providers for timely care decisions.
• Provide patient/family education to support informed care decisions.
• Document accurately in EMR to support continuity of care.
• Participate in rounds and interdisciplinary communication.

At RWJBarnabas Health, Float Pool Registered Nurses provide extraordinary care to patients across all populations, includingMed/Surg, 8 South a 38-bed unit, Med/Surg, 6 South a 38-bed unit, Telemetry/Cardiac, 7 South a 38-bed unit and In-patient Oncology, 4 North a 22-bed unit. We provide management of acutely ill patients with lift-threatening conditions requiring complex assessment, high- intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions

Requirements

• you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement in good standing and current American Heart Association BLS certification as well as ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire
• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred; graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required
• Medical/Surgical and or Telemetry nursing experience preferred, as is the following certifications –MEDSURG-BC(Medical-Surgical Nursing Board Certification),PCCN(Progressive Care Certified Nurse),CMSRN(Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse), and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC

In this position, you will work 7p-7:30a. This position requires every other weekend and holiday required. Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs.

This position offers a Night Shift schedule and 36 working hours weekly, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
