AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, seeks a Registered Nurse for the PCU Multisystem unit. The night shift runs 7:00 pm–7:00 am with weekend/holiday rotation and a pathway for advancement through a Clinical Ladder program offering up to 20% salary increases based on criteria.

• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care to promote understanding and adherence.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.

Job Description:

Unit Highlights:

PCU Multisystem (MSU) provides inpatient medical care to individuals needing evaluation and medical stabilization prior to moving to a Behavioral Health unit. We are a unique team that focuses on the complex needs of both medical and psychiatric component of our patients while providing the best care

Schedule:

Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift:

Nights, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am (with weekend and holiday rotation)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.

• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.

• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures

• Ability to work as a Team player within a unit

• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills

• EKG competency

• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)

• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]

• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
