Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking qualified Registered Nurses to join the ICU (MSICU) team. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust individualized care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Night shift, full-time, 7:00 pm–7:00 am. The Clinical Ladder Program offers salary increases up to 20% based on experience.

Qualifications

• RN with active license in Florida (or applicable state).
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 1+ acute care hospital setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across domains.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and revise as needed.
• Administer medications per orders and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to optimize care and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.

About the Unit:

• ICU Medical (MSICU) has a diverse patient population. If you want variety, we’ve got it. There is a reason our NPC has coined the phrase "All Systems, All the Time". We care for Renal Failure, Liver Failure, Respiratory Failure w/ ventilator management, Septic Shock w/MODS, Post Cardiac Arrest Code Cool, Post-Partem Hemorrhage, Bone Marrow Transplant, Hypovolemic Shock, Upper and Lower GI Bleed, DKA w/severe acidosis and more.

Schedule:

Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift:

Night (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.

• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.

• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures

• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills

• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
