Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Postpartum Unit. This part-time day role offers 2x12 hour shifts per week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Inova is recognized for safety, quality, patient experience, and strong employer standing in the DC metro area.

The RN will provide skilled postpartum care, collaborate with the care team, and support patient families while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program. If ADN, BSN must be completed within 5 years of start date.
• 1 year of RN experience in a critical care setting; two years on a postpartum inpatient unit preferred.
• Active RN license in Virginia or eligible for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS/PALS as applicable within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate postpartum nursing care.
• Coordinate patient care with families and the health care team.
• Document care activities and ensure smooth care transitions.
• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Promote patient rights and dignity while ensuring quality outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience : Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship. Preferred: Two years of recent experience on an inpatient postpartum unit.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
• Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of recent inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) experience on a Postpartum unit
