Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical/Surgical unit on night shifts (7P-7A). This 24-bed unit operates with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, serving a diverse medical, surgical, testing, and observation patient population.

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
• Clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

What we're looking for
