Job summary

Johnson Memorial Health in Franklin, Indiana is seeking a Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) for the night shift. The role requires Indiana RN licensure, BLS/CPR, and PALS for pediatric patients, with BSN preferred.

A $5,000 bonus is available and weekend options may be provided. The nurse will perform initial assessments, prioritize patient care, reassess progress, respond to emergencies, and participate in discharge planning and unit quality initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
• Implements and documents timely interventions appropriate to patient needs and recognizes and responds to emergencies.
• Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluation of patient outcomes.
• Participates in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Coordinates team assignments and adjusts based on unit needs; follows up on delegated tasks for quality and completeness.
• Functions as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff; follows Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures.

Utilizes appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues.Participates in orientation of new staff.Maintains a neat, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.Participates in the unit’s continuous quality improvement plan to improve organizational performance.Functions as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff; greeting them promptly and courteously.Performs other related duties as assigned.Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana required. BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers Certification required. PALS Certification required for staff who are assigned to care for pediatric patients. BSN preferred.
