Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift. The role includes 3x12 night hours (7pm–7am) with rotating weekends and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for well-qualified applicants.

You will support vascular and general medical patients, collaborating closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams. This position requires an Alabama RN license, at least an associate degree in nursing, and BLS; ACLS within six months.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current Alabama or compact state RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS certification within six months of hire
  • Two-three years of experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

More About Our Team

Our Vascular unit specializes in caring for patients with complex vascular and circulatory conditions, as well as general medical and post-surgical needs. Patients on this unit may include those with peripheral vascular disease, arterial and venous disorders, wound complications, post-operative vascular care, and chronic conditions requiring ongoing monitoring and education. Nurses work closely with vascular surgeons, hospitalists, wound care specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Nurses on this unit are provided the opportunity to earn dialysis certification as part of their professional development.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Alabama or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS are required within six months of hire.
