Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical Surgical/Post Op on day shifts. The role features a 3–12 hour shift schedule with every other weekend, and an hourly range of $31.49–$42.51.

The RN will perform plans of care, document patient status, and collaborate with the care team while supporting patients with daily activities. A strong emphasis is placed on education and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
