Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Missouri is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg 5E. This role uses the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care, maintains accountability, and coordinates care with other departments.

The unit treats adult medical patients; full-time, 36 hours per week, days shift from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Sign-on bonuses are available for experienced and new graduate nurses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in MO or compact licensure.
• Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Hospital nursing experience preferred.

About the Unit — Med Surg 5E

Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.OverviewUtilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:Associate Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
• Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Certifications:Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
