Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg 5E. The role welcomes new grads and experienced RNs. Full-time, 36 hours/week, days from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Location: 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128.

Sign-on bonus: Up to $10,000 for experienced nurses; up to $5,000 for new grads. Requires Missouri RN license or compact, BLS certification, and BSN preferred. Prior hospital experience is preferred; BSN encouraged.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri or compact license
• BLS certification through American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ Diploma/ BSN)

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.

Shift: Days | 7:00am - 7:00pm

About the Unit — Med Surg 5E

Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: BSN preferred.

Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
