Job summary

Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Haywood Regional Medical Center in North Carolina. The role features a 3x12 day shift with rotating weekends and holidays, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for new grads or $15,000 for experienced RNs with a 2-year commitment.

Join a collaborative Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, contributing to high-quality patient care while meeting licensure and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license or compact state RN license is required.
• AHA BLS certification within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS within six months.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide age-appropriate care and document medical necessity.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Develop and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Complete timely QI assessments.

Join our team in a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). With a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Licenses: Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
