Job summary

Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room at Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, North Carolina. This full-time position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, initiating nursing interventions, and ensuring accurate documentation. Applicants must have a current RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited school. Join us in a rewarding role dedicated to improving community health.

Qualifications

  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license required.
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Perform nursing interventions and document appropriately.
  • Participate in developing and revising Interdisciplinary Care Plans.

Skills

Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license
AHA Basic Life Support certification

Schedule: 4x10s or 5x8s + Days, call may be required.

More about our team

The operating room is equipped with six beds and handles an average of 400 cases per month. The scope of procedures includes a diverse range of specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.

How You'll Contribute
  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What We're Looking For
  • Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
