Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on the 12-hour night shifts in the RN unit. This full-time 0.9 FTE position emphasizes compassionate care and clinical excellence.

The staffing pool supports med/surg, neuro/ortho/peds, rehab, and cardiac units. Opportunities after one year to train in ICU and ED; a $7,500 sign-on bonus is available based on meeting eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

• State of Michigan RN license required.
• Associate degree from accredited nursing program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BLS-HCP certification required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physicians, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfer, discharge and referrals.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education appropriate to age and culture.
• Advocates for patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

More About Our Team

The staffing pool provides RN staffing coverage to our med/surg, neuro/ortho/peds, rehab, and cardiac units. Staffing pool nurses are exceptional nurses who easily adapt to change and can accommodate many different working environments. After one year working in the staffing pool, nurses can train to specialty units such as ICU and the ED. Staffing pool is extremely rewarding and offers a multitude of learning opportunities to enhance nursing skills and critical thinking. One year nursing experience preferred.

How You Will Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We Are Looking For

Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).
